General Practice is the provision of primary, continuing, comprehensive 'whole person' care for individuals, families and communities (as defined by the Australian Department of Health and Ageing). General Practice involves the ability to take responsible action on any medical problem a patient presents, whether or not it forms part of an ongoing doctor-patient relationship.
